Town Recognizes National Volunteer Week, Celebrates with Volunteer Recognition Awards Ceremony

The Town of The Blue Mountains would like to recognize National Volunteer Week and extend sincere gratitude and appreciation to the countless volunteers who devote their time and effort to support the community.

“On behalf of Council, Staff and the entire community, I would like to thank each and every volunteer for their relentless dedication,” says Mayor Alar Soever. “This week provides an opportunity to celebrate our volunteers and recognize their many contributions to making The Blue Mountains a better place for all.”

To recognize the contributions of volunteers in The Blue Mountains, the Town in partnership with the Marsh Street Centre will be hosting a Volunteer Recognition Awards Ceremony on Saturday, April 30, 2022 from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the Marsh Street Centre in Clarksburg. Members of the public are invited to attend the event to celebrate the achievements of volunteers and community groups throughout the community. The ceremony will celebrate and honour the volunteers and community groups who have been nominated through the annual Volunteer Recognition program for their commitment, generosity, and contributions to the local community.

National Volunteer Week (April 24th – 30th) is a time to celebrate and thank Canada’s 24 million volunteers. This year’s theme is Volunteering Is Empathy In Action, affirming the strong connection between volunteerism and empathy. The empathy, compassion and generosity of volunteers creates connected communities and builds a strong Canada.
