The Town of The Blue Mountains is pleased to announce that the 2024 Volunteer Recognition Awards & Volunteer Fair event will be held this year on Wednesday, April 17, 2024, as part of National Volunteer Recognition Week.

Launched in 2022, the Town's annual Volunteer Recognition Awards event aims to celebrate and honour outstanding residents, community groups and organizations who work to enhance the quality of life in The Blue Mountains.
Award Winners
The following individuals and organizations are the recipients of the 2024 Volunteer Recognition Awards:
- Arts and Culture Award: Judy Shield
- Heritage Award: Royal Canadian Legion Beaver Valley Branch 281
- Sustainability Award: Barry Tatchell & Stella Preshus Juhasz
- Sports and Recreation Award: Jessica Elkins
- Good Neighbour Award: Sarah Beveridge
- Blue Mountains Community Builder (Adult 26+): Linda Wykes
- Outstanding Community Group Award: The Marsh Street Centre
In partnership with The Seniors Network, the Town will honour the recipients at the Volunteer Recognition Awards Ceremony and Volunteer Fair on Wednesday, April 17, 2024, at the Beaver Valley Community Centre.
Volunteer Fair Information
This free event is an opportunity for groups to connect with local residents looking to volunteer in the community.
The Volunteer Fair runs from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Awards Ceremony Information
The Awards Ceremony will be held at the Beaver Valley Community Centre on Wednesday, April 17, 2024, beginning at 5:00 p.m. As part of the Awards Ceremony, the Town will host a volunteer fair from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Local community groups are invited to attend to meet with the public and discuss volunteer opportunities. Award Categories
The volunteer recognition program recognizes individual volunteers and community groups in a specific category for their contributions to the community. One individual award and one group award is available per category unless otherwise stated.
