2027 Digital Parking Permits Now Available

Press Releases

The Town of The Blue Mountains would like to advise residents that digital parking permits for the 2027 calendar year are now available.

Parking permits must be renewed annually. Existing 2026 permits will remain valid until December 31, 2026, but residents must obtain a new permit for the 2027 calendar year.

Registration can be completed online through the Town’s website or in person at Town Hall during regular business hours.

An email renewal reminder was sent from GTechna to current permit holders earlier this week. The Town would like to reassure residents that this is a legitimate notification.

How to Renew Your Parking Permit for 2027

Residents with an existing 2026 parking permit can renew their vehicle registrations through their household account by following these steps:

  1. Log in to your existing household account through the online parking permit portal. If you have forgotten your password, select "Forgot Password" and enter your email address to receive a temporary password. Once logged in, remember to reset your password.
  2. Navigate to the "Permits" section of the portal. Your existing 2026 parking permit will be listed with an expiry date of December 31, 2026.
  3. To renew for 2027, click "Add Permit" and choose your vehicle from the drop-down list. The start date for the 2027 permit will automatically be set to January 1, 2027. Upload current proof of residency (proof of vehicle ownership does not need to be uploaded again if the documentation is already on file and has not expired).
  4. Select "Add to Cart" to proceed. The permit will appear in your cart at a cost of $0.00.
  5. Accept the terms and conditions and select "Buy" to complete your renewal. There is no charge for resident parking permits.

Proof of residency and vehicle ownership are required for registration. All residents must upload current proof of residency when renewing their parking permit for 2027. Residents who previously uploaded proof of vehicle ownership when registering for a 2026 parking permit will not need to upload it again, unless the documentation has expired. Residents registering online for the first time or creating a new household account are required to upload both documents at the time of registration. This one-time setup allows residents to manage multiple vehicles under a single account, including temporary parking permits for visitors.

Friends and Family Parking Permits

Friends and Family Parking Permits are now also available for the 2027 calendar year. Residents planning ahead for visiting guests can purchase temporary digital parking permits at a cost of $5 plus HST per day, for up to 14 days per calendar year. These days may be used consecutively or on separate dates throughout the year.

Residents can continue to use their remaining 2026 permits until December 31, 2026. Beginning January 1, 2027, any permits used will count toward the 14-day allowance for the 2027 calendar year.

With a valid digital parking permit, residents may park for free at all municipally owned paid parking locations, including beaches, parks and trails. Please note that Town parking permits do not apply to privately owned paid parking lots.

Residents are also reminded that annual winter parking restrictions came into effect on November 1 and remain in place until April 15, 2027. During this period, overnight parking on Town roads is prohibited between 2:00 a.m. and 7:00 a.m. to ensure snow removal operations can be completed safely and efficiently.
