TOWN OF THE BLUE MOUNTAINS
CLASS ENVIRONMENTAL ASSESSMENT BRIDGES 2 & 3 AND BRIDGE 13
NOTICE OF PUBLIC INFORMATION CENTRE
To address structural deficiencies and safety concerns, Town of The Blue Mountains is considering alternative solutions at two bridge sites:
BRIDGES 2 & 3 are being planned as a Schedule A+ project under the Municipal Class Environmental Assessment, with the Town completing the phases associated with a Schedule B project to increase public consultation throughout the process. Alternatives being considered include:
- Do nothing;
- Permanently close and remove the existing bridges;
- Repurpose the bridges to non-vehicular traffic;
- Rehabilitate the existing bridges;
- Replace with single lane bridges; and
- Replace with two lane bridges.
BRIDGE 13 is being planned as a Schedule B project under the Municipal Class Environmental Assessment. Alternatives being considered include:
- Do nothing;
- Rehabilitate the existing bridge;
- Replace with single lane bridge;
- Replace with two lane bridge; and
- Rehabilitate bridge and download to property owners on the east side of the watercourse.
Information about these projects can be found at https://www.thebluemountains.ca/bridges-2-3-13-environmental-assessments.cfm. A joint Public Information Centre has been arranged to provide further information to the members of the public, approval agencies and interested stakeholders on the various alternatives and to receive further input. All those with an interest in the project are encouraged to attend.
