Craigleith Community Park

The Town has posted a Request for Proposal seeking a Landscape Architect firm to manage design work for the Moreau Park Revitalization and Craigleith Community Park projects. The bid closing date is Thursday, September 18. A preliminary schedule has been set which would see conceptual designs for the parks completed in late Q4 of 2025 based on the information gathered through the original public surveys for each project. These concepts will be presented to the public for another round of consultation and further development of the designs beginning in late Q4 of 2025 and spanning into early Q1 of 2026. Final designs are expected to be completed early in Q2 of 2026.

The Town has announced that Colliers Project Leaders has been contracted to manage the development of the new Craigleith Community Park. Colliers will lead the procurement of the design team for the Craigleith Community Park design process, ensuring that the results of the 2024 public survey are taken into consideration. Construction of the park is estimated to begin in 2026, in coordination with home construction on the Blue Vista site.

The Craigleith Community Park Survey Report is now available. 

Survey Report

The Craigleith Community Park Survey has closed. The survey received 991 responses. A staff report, inclusive of a survey report, will be brought to Council this Spring. 

The Town has launched a survey to gather initial feedback from the community regarding the future Craigleith Community Park. The information gathered through the survey will be used to help inform the initial design concepts which will be presented to the community for comment in the next stage of consultation in mid-2024. The survey can be completed until February 26, 2024.

Staff prepared a recommendation for Council consideration to enable the development of a public engagement strategy to receive input on the vision for the park block within the Blue Vista development area and the publicly dedicated spaces interconnected with the block. 

Staff Report

Staff Report PDS.24.028 was presented to Committee of the Whole on May 27, 2024. The report provides a follow-up to the public survey for the Craigleith Community Park lands, and requests direction to proceed with an initial design concept to be presented at a future Public Meeting. Committee voted 6-0 in favour of the staff recommendations. This decision is scheduled to be included on the June 3 Council Meeting agenda for adoption.
