Town Conducting Poison Ivy Spot Spraying on Georgian Trail - Beginning June 16, 2025

The Town of The Blue Mountains would like to advise the public that poison ivy weed spraying will be conducted on the Georgian Trail during the week of June 16, 2025. The herbicide spot-treatment will be conducted by Eagles Weed Control along the sides of the trail where poison ivy is present.

Signs will be installed at each end of the areas being sprayed. Residents are asked to stay in the middle of the trail during weed spraying to avoid contact with the herbicide.

Colliers Project Leaders to Provide Project Management Services on Moreau Park Revitalization and Craigleith Community Park

The Town of The Blue Mountains is excited to announce that Colliers Project Leaders has been contracted to manage two major community parks projects – the revitalization of Moreau Park in Thornbury, and the development of the new Craigleith Community Park. 

Town Conducting Wild Chervil Spot Spraying - May 20-30, 2025

May 22, 2025 - This notice has been updated to reflect that spot spraying will also be occurring on rural roads during the same timeframe.

The Town of The Blue Mountains would like to advise the public that spot spraying of Wild Chervil is scheduled to be conducted on the Georgian Trail and on rural roads from May 20-30, 2025, pending weather and conditions. The herbicide spot-treatment will be conducted by Eagles Weed Control where Wild Chervil has been reported or is present.

Notice of Public Information Centre for Recreational Development of 130 King Street West

The Town of the Blue Mountains is exploring potential recreational uses for the 130 King Street West property in Thornbury. The property is 2.9 acres and is currently home to two outdoor tennis courts. The current Official Plan designation of this property is Primary Settlement Area and the zoning is Community Living Area. Possible recreational uses could include parkland, recreational facilities or a combination thereof. Prior to any development, an appropriate Official Plan Amendment and or Zoning Bylaw Amendment request will need to be passed for the use of the land.
