Town Conducting Poison Ivy Spot Spraying on Georgian Trail - June 2026

The Town of The Blue Mountains would like to advise the public that poison ivy weed spraying will be conducted on the Georgian Trail during the week of June 15, 2026. The herbicide spot-treatment will be conducted by Clean Edge Spraying along the sides of the trail where poison ivy is present.

Signs will be installed at each end of the areas being sprayed. Residents are asked to stay in the middle of the trail during weed spraying to avoid contact with the herbicide.

Temporary Partial Closure - Thornbury Pier Parking Lot - Beginning June 8, 2026

The Town of The Blue Mountains would like to advise the public that a portion of the gravel parking lot at the Thornbury Pier will be closed beginning the week of June 8, 2026. This area is required for a storage and staging area by a subcontractor working on the installation of the new treated effluent outfall pipe for the Thornbury Wastewater Treatment Plant. 

Temporary Park Closure - Lora Bay Park - Beginning June 1, 2026

The Town of The Blue Mountains would like to advise the public that Clearway Construction has begun mobilizing to Lora Bay Park to begin assembly of the new outfall pipe for the Thornbury Wastewater Treatment Plant. They will be working this week to install security fencing and place equipment. Public access to the park is expected to be restricted until October 2026. 

Temporary Closure - Clendenan Conservation Area

On behalf of the Grey Sauble Conservation Authority, the Town of The Blue Mountains would like to advise the public that the Clendenan Conservation Area is closed until further notice due to flooding of the property.

Conservation Authority staff will be installing a barricade and caution tape at the entrance and signing other access areas. The entire property will remain closed until water levels recede and it is safe to reopen.
