The Town of The Blue Mountains would like to recognize Small Business Week, taking place from October 20 to 26, 2024, and acknowledge the importance of small businesses in the Town and the significance of their contributions to the Town of The Blue Mountains economy.

Small Business Week (October 20 to 26, 2024) is an annual opportunity to recognize the important role of entrepreneurs and small businesses within the Canadian economy. 

Town Seeking Bids For Food Trucks For 2024 Season

The Town of The Blue Mountains is seeking bids from interested parties to provide and operate food truck services in various locations, as listed below.

  • Municipal Recreation Complex – 417230 10th Line, Thornbury
  • Northwinds Beach – 209605 Highway 26, The Blue Mountains
  • Little River Beach - 4 Harbour Street, Thornbury

Owners are invited to submit bids to operate a mobile refreshment vehicle at one or more of the three locations. Each location has a minimum bid or rental rate for each season of operation, as listed below:

The Blue Mountains Fire Department Conducting Inspections of Town Businesses

The Town would like to advise businesses that The Blue Mountains Fire Department will be conducting fire safety inspections throughout the municipality.

The inspections will typically take place in the morning during standard business hours and will last between fifteen minutes to over an hour, depending on the size of the building or unit. The Fire Department will coordinate with local businesses to ensure the inspection can be completed with no interruption to operations.

Mayor Alar Soever and members of Council, alongside friends and family celebrated the official opening with a ribbon cutting ceremony, marking the Town’s first ribbon cutting event since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic.
