Notice of Barrier Removal: Crosswinds Boulevard Opening

Press Releases
Public Notices

The Town of The Blue Mountains is advising the public of the upcoming removal of the barrier on Crosswinds Boulevard, allowing the roadway to open to through-traffic.

The barrier is scheduled to be removed on Monday, July 13, 2026. As part of the barrier removal activities, Town staff will first install additional traffic safety signage along Crosswinds Boulevard to support the safe opening of the roadway to through-traffic (see Figure 2: Traffic Safety Signage Plan). Staff will then complete the barrier removal, which will require the use of heavy equipment to lift and remove the concrete barrier sections. Following barrier removal, crews will complete final site activities, including sweeping and inspecting the roadway. Once this work is complete, Crosswinds Boulevard will immediately open to through-traffic.

Following the opening, Town staff are committed to monitoring traffic conditions and pedestrian safety. Radar speed signs have been installed along the roadway to collect post-opening traffic data, which will be compared with pre-opening baseline data. This information will help inform whether additional traffic calming measures are warranted.

Residents wishing to report traffic condition-related concerns can contact the Town's Operations Department at operationsinfo@thebluemountains.ca. Concerns related to traffic law enforcement, including speeding and failure to stop at stop signs, should be reported to the OPP Non-Emergency line at 1-888-310-1122.

Opening Crosswinds Boulevard is required to improve connectivity in the area and support more direct access for residents, emergency services, and Town operations such as maintenance and service delivery.
