The Town of The Blue Mountains would like to provide details regarding the Request-for-Information (RFI) that has been issued by The Blue Mountains Attainable Housing Corporation (BMAHC). The RFI is a substantial step forward within the mandate of the BMAHC to help develop attainable housing stock in the municipality.
In consultation with StrategyCorp and Town staff, the BMAHC developed the RFI to assess the appetite for partnerships in the development of attainable housing within The Town of The Blue Mountains. The goal of the RFI is to assist the BMAHC in recognizing the opportunities and challenges of building attainable housing stock in the municipality through the lens and understanding of the development community.
The information gathered through the process will help the BMAHC develop a formal Request-for-Proposal (RFP) in which a proponent may be selected to lead and build attainable housing within the municipality. It is important to emphasize that further Council approvals, public consultation and planning and development approvals will be required prior to the final approval of a property for the development of attainable housing.
Residents are encouraged and invited to share feedback and input during the Request-for-Information process. Public feedback and input regarding the development of attainable housing with the Town of The Blue Mountains is valuable and important within working to address the attainable housing issues within the Town of The Blue Mountains.
How can residents provide feedback/input?
As part of the RFI process, the BMAHC has issued an online survey to gain insight and feedback from the public. Results from the survey will be considered by the BMAHC within the development of the RFP.
