During the month of May, The Town of The Blue Mountains is proud to recognize Building Safety Month to celebrate the dedication of the building industry to keep homes, buildings, and infrastructure safe.
The vigilant professionals working to maintain this safety include building officials, inspectors, fire prevention officials, architects, engineers, builders, tradespersons, design professionals and the entire construction industry. Each of these professionals relies on the Ontario Building Code (OBC) to set the minimum standard for new construction, additions and alteration to existing buildings.
“On behalf of the Town, I would like to extend my sincere appreciation to everyone working within the construction industry and for their continued commitment to safe construction practices,” explained Mayor Andrea Matrosovs. “Ontario is known to have one of the best building codes in the world. It is because of this high standard that residents feel safe in the buildings where they live, work and play.”
The Town extends its sincere appreciation to all building professionals for their integral role in ensuring the safety, strength, and growth of the community.
