The Town of The Blue Mountains Celebrates National Volunteer Week

Press Releases

The Town of The Blue Mountains is proud to recognize National Volunteer Week and extend its sincere thanks and appreciation to the many volunteers who commit their time and hard work towards aiding the community.

National Volunteer Week gives us an opportunity to share our gratitude for the volunteers that contribute so much to The Blue Mountains,” says Mayor Andrea Matrosovs. “On behalf of Council, Town staff, and everyone in The Blue Mountains, thank you for everything you do to enrich the lives of others in our community.”

To recognize the contributions of volunteers in The Blue Mountains, the Town, in partnership with The Senior’s Network, will be hosting a Volunteer Recognition Awards Ceremony followed by a Volunteer Fair on Saturday, April 22, 2023, at the Beaver Valley Community Centre in Thornbury. The awards ceremony, running from 9:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., will celebrate and honour the volunteers and community groups who have been nominated through the annual Volunteer Recognition program for their commitment, generosity, and contributions to the local community. A complimentary breakfast will be served to those in attendance. The Volunteer Fair will be hosted from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., giving the public time to meet with various community groups in the area to learn about volunteer opportunities. Light refreshments will be provided.
