Curious about the birds in your backyard or local park? Join us for an interactive session where we’ll explore the basics of birds and birding. We’ll talk about bird migration, anatomy, nests, eggs, and common bird types.

You'll also hear a bit about Debbie's own bird research and some of the incredible places she has worked, getting to know the landscapes that birds call home.

Join us for a sweet and silly twist on a global favourite! Inspired by our Summer Reading Club theme: Around the World, we’re making Krispie Pizza Dessert—a fun, hands-on treat that celebrates the iconic Italian dish (even if ours is more marshmallow than mozzarella!).

Get ready to mix, shape, and decorate your own dessert pizza—perfect for summer snacking and creative fun.

Story Time at The Farmers Pantry

We’re in full summer swing—and The Blue Mountains Public Library has teamed up once again with the Farmer’s Pantry for a special Story Time on the Farm! Join us from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM for a fun-filled hour featuring stories, songs, rhymes, a simple craft, and some adorable furry friends!

Admission is free during Story Time, and it’s a drop-in program for ages 0–5. Don’t forget your sunscreen and a hat—we’ll be enjoying the great outdoors!

Rainbow Dance Party

Join us for an unforgettable day of dancing, crafts, and fun at our Rainbow Dance Party! It’s a celebration for the whole family, brought to you in the name of pride.

Groove to the beat with Tyler Boyle as he leads the dance floor on the Front Lawn at L.E. Shore Library! A fun-filled event with dancing, crafts, LGBT+ resources, giveaways, and games. There will be a flash mob style dance with easy-to-follow moves, encouraging everyone to add their own style.

No dance experience needed – this is for all ages and abilities!

Thornbury Flower Market

Brighten your summer with a visit to the Thornbury Flower Market, a brand-new outdoor market located in the Hester Street Parkette on Bruce Street South, brimming with freshly cut blooms. Held one Saturday a month on May 31, June 28, July 26, August 23, and September 20, this small yet vibrant event features 3-5 carefully selected artisans and local flower growers.

While you’re picking the perfect bouquet, make a day of it by exploring the charming boutiques, cozy cafes, and inviting restaurants that make Thornbury’s downtown so special.

TBM Repair Café

On the 4th Saturday of every month (except July, August and December) 9am-noon area residents have the opportunity to bring their broken items to the Repair Café, where community volunteers use their skills to help repair them for free. We also share some social time, with coffee or a nice cup of tea and cookies. This adventure not only brings our community together to help our neighbours, it also lengthens the life of the items repaired/mended, diverts items going to our landfill and saves taxpayers money!
