Landfill staff will be checking identification upon arrival to confirm the property address. Please note that the Town Landfill will only accept waste from Town of The Blue Mountains residents and/or individuals that own property in the Town of The Blue Mountains.
After the first two days of operation (April 28 and April 30), the landfill will be operating under the following temporary schedule:
- Monday: 9:00am – 3:00pm
- Tuesday: 9:00am – 3:00pm
- Wednesday: Closed
- Thursday: 9:00am – 3:00pm
- Saturday: 9:00am – 12:00pm (noon)
- Sunday: Closed
In addition, a number of new operational restrictions and safety measures have been implemented to ensure the safe and effective operation of the landfill. Please read the following items carefully:
- There will be a $6 minimum charge per load (fees to increase on May 1, 2020)
- Cash payments will not be accepted (debit or credit only – tap preferred)
- Staff will be limiting the number of customers into the landfill, and inbound curbside collection trucks will take priority. As a result, please be patient and expect delays
- No household hazardous waste will be accepted at this time
- Some diversion programs may be temporarily unavailable, and these materials will be disposed of and charged as garbage
- Split charges will not be allowed as a means to reduce the number of transactions, however; customers must still separate materials into designated areas
As a reminder, residents should follow all public health guidelines, as recommended by the public health unit. Please ensure that you practice physical distancing and ensure a 2-metre distance between other customers and staff members. Also, if you are self-isolating or have recently travelled outside of the country, please do not visit the landfill at this time.
