The Town of The Blue Mountains has launched a public survey to gain feedback and input from our residents regarding the redevelopment of the Town website (www.thebluemountains.ca). The survey asks residents to identify what works well on the current website and to identify areas that require improvement.

“In 2020, the Town website had over 154,000 total users and over 567,000 page views,” says Mayor Alar Soever. “As the primary communication tool used by both the public and the Town, it’s important that the Town website delivers a positive user experience and that it is easy to search and navigate. I encourage all residents to share your feedback and experience on using the current Town website, so we are able to consider incorporating these lessons learned and suggestions into the new website.”
The survey will be available until Wednesday, May 26. Results will be reviewed by the Community Communications Advisory Committee and will be provided to the website development team to help improve the user experience of the website.
Project Overview
The Town’s corporate website serves as the primary communication tool for all municipal information, project updates and community news. Through the budget process, the Town identified the need to improve and enhance the user experience of the website and to increase staff productivity and workflow efficiency through the management of the website.
As the website is often the first touchpoint for both residents, stakeholders, and visitors, feedback from the community is an integral part of the extensive website redevelopment process. The development of the new website is underway through collaboration with the Community Communications Advisory Committee. The goal is to relaunch the new website this fall.
Upon relaunch, the website will:
- Improve the end-user experience;
- Feature a new and improved design and functionality;
- Employ streamlined and simplified site navigation;
- Improved content searchability;
- Full AODA accessibility and security compliance; and
- Enhanced and simplified staff processes.
