The County of Grey and the Town of The Blue Mountains received a plan of subdivision application known as the Long Point Road Subdivision.

The application proposes to create a total of 22 single detached residential units. Access to the lots would be from a new road connecting to Long Point Road. Servicing to the proposed subdivision will be by municipal water and sewer services.

The proposed zoning by-law amendment application seeks to rezone the lands from the Development (D) zone to the Residential One (R1-3) zone with an exception to permit 2.5 storey or maximum of 9.5 metre high dwellings. Council approved the application and passed By-law 2022-81 on November 28, 2022 (Notice of Decision).

  The Committee voted 4-1 against the motion and instead directed staff to consult with the developer regarding section 51(24) of the Planning Act as it relates to the requirement to provide a mix of residential housing types and report back to Council.
  At the Council Meeting held on November 14, 2022, following a deputation made by Pascuzzo Planning Inc. on behalf of the owner and applicant, Council voted 4-1 in favour of the original motion to support a recommendation to County of Grey to grant Draft Plan Approval, subject to outlined Draft Plan Conditions, along with enacting a Zoning By-law Amendment to rezone the subject lands.
