The 2024 Budget includes a property tax rate increase of 2.77%, representing an increase of $60 on the Town's portion of the tax bill for an average home in The Blue Mountains as set by MPAC at $555,000.
“Council, in collaboration with staff and broad public consultation, have built a financially stable and sustainable budget for 2024 and the future for the Town,” said Deputy Mayor and Finance Chair Peter Bordignon. “Council wanted to ensure the 2024 Budget maintains frontline services for The Blue Mountains as we continue to develop our Reserve Funds for Capital Projects. I am pleased we were able to achieve these goals with a small 2.7% increase to the tax base.”
The approved budget includes an $80M capital budget to support key projects throughout the Town, including:
- Renovations of the Craigleith and Mill Street Sewage Pumping Stations
- Replacement of the Thornbury Wastewater Treatment Plant Outfall
