The Project Engineer has issued notice of Substantial Performance. This means the construction contract requirements have been fulfilled, and the work has now entered the warranty period.
October 3, 2023
SMRS Construction is scheduled to complete work on Thursday, October 5 that will result in temporary water interruptions from 8:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. for some properties on Lakewood Drive and Woodland Park Road. Impacted properties will receive a hand-delivered notice. The rain date for this work will be Friday, October 6.

SMRS Construction has completed installation of the new watermains and asphalt at both Phase 2 sites. They will be transitioning to final reinstatement work, and expect to be de-mobilized from the sites by mid-October.
September 12, 2023
The project remains on schedule. Over the coming weeks, SMRS Construction will be continuing work on Napier Street West, and will be commissioning the watermain on Woodland Park Road. Temporary service interruptions will occur during the commissioning process. The Town's contractor will be providing written notice to impacted properties at least 48 hours in advance of any scheduled outages. It's anticipated that construction will be complete in late September.
August 30, 2023
Excavation work has been completed on Woodland Park Road, and SMRS Construction will begin shifting to restoration work on that site. They plan to begin transitioning equipment to Napier Street West following the long weekend.
August 25, 2023
All water services on Woodland Park Road to the east of the emergency access to Goldie Court have been completed, and SMRS Construction has started reinstatement work. Over the next two weeks, they plan to begin working towards the end of the Woodland Park cul-de-sac and will be commissioning the watermain. Temporary service interruptions will occur during the commissioning process. The Town's contractor will be providing written notice to impacted properties at least 48 hours in advance of any scheduled outages.
August 14, 2023
Update: Water service was restored around 5:30 p.m. on August 14 and the road was reopened later in the evening.
Please be advised that the Town's contractor has damaged the 3” water line on Woodland Park Road. Town operators are responding immediately to perform repairs, but water service to all properties on Woodland Park Road will be interrupted until repairs are complete.

The Town's contractor has identified some areas where trees will need to be removed within the municipality's right-of-way in order to install the new water services. Written notice has been hand-delivered to the impacted properties. Tree cutting is expected to be completed before the end of this week.
