LAURIN Group Awarded Construction Contract for New Craigleith Fire Hall

The Town of The Blue Mountains would like to advise residents that the LAURIN Group has been awarded the construction contract for the new Craigleith Fire Hall. The LAURIN Group specializes in institutional, commercial, industrial and multi-family residential projects, and has provided construction services throughout Ontario for companies including GO Transit, Hydro One and Canada Post. Contractors from LAURIN have arrived on site and begun preparation work. 

Town of The Blue Mountains Adopts Updated Building Fees By-law

The Town of The Blue Mountains would like to inform residents, builders and developers that Council has formally adopted an amendment to By-law 2014-18, Being a By-law under the Building Code Act Respecting Permits and Related Matters. The updated By-law was adopted at the July 14, 2025, Council Meeting, with all changes set to take effect on September 1, 2025.

Temporary Road Closure - Sideroad 6 - June 17-19, 2025

The Town of The Blue Mountains would like to advise the public of an upcoming temporary road closure. Sideroad 6 will be closed to through traffic between 10th Line and The Blue Mountains/Euphrasia Townline on June 17-18, 2025 between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. This closure is to accommodate warranty repairs to Bridges 2 and 3. Alternating lane restrictions will be in place on June 19 as work as completed.

Town of The Blue Mountains Launches Cloudpermit for Planning and Development Services

Following the successful launch of Cloudpermit for Building Services in January, The Town of The Blue Mountains is excited to announce the rollout of Cloudpermit for planning-related applications. 

As of April 28, 2025, property owners, developers, builders, and other members of the community can use Cloudpermit to apply for and track development applications from anywhere, at any time. 

Construction Tender Awarded for Thornbury West Phase 1B Reconstruction

The Town of The Blue Mountains would like to advise residents that Moorefield Excavating has been awarded the construction tender for Phase 1B of the Thornbury West Reconstruction Project. Following Council’s reconsideration and approval of the final design of Louisa Street West in November of 2024, construction of Phase 1B will proceed in 2025.
