The Blue Mountains Invites Residents to “Pitch-In” for Earth Week 2026

The Town of The Blue Mountains encourages members of the community to “Pitch-In” for Earth Week, taking place from April 20 to April 26, 2026!

Earth Week encourages participants of all ages to help clean up litter from parks, trails, shorelines and public spaces throughout their community during the week of Earth Day. Each year, Earth Day takes place on April 22 to raise awareness and motivate action on environmental issues.

Nominations Open for 2026 Volunteer Awards

The Town of The Blue Mountains is pleased to announce that the nomination period for the Town's 2026 Volunteer Recognition Awards is now open. Nominations will be accepted from February 2 to March 6, 2026. 

Launched in 2022, the Town’s annual Volunteer Recognition Awards event celebrates the outstanding residents and organizations that make The Blue Mountains a welcoming and vibrant community. This year’s awards ceremony will be held at the Beaver Valley Community Centre on Wednesday, April 22, 2026 beginning at 5:30 p.m. as part of National Volunteer Recognition Week. 

Temporary Water Outages - October 27-31, 2025

The Town of The Blue Mountains would like to advise the public of a series of upcoming temporary water outages to allow for the connection of the new watermain on Peel Street North. While this work is being completed, the Town's contractor will be required to reduce and/or shut off water supply to properties in the immediate vicinity. Reduced pressure is expected throughout the week of October 27-31, 2025. Full water outages are expected between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. on the following days in the areas indicated.

Temporary Road Closure - Victoria Street South - October 11, 2025

The Town of The Blue Mountains would like to advise the public of an upcoming temporary road closure. Victoria Street South in Thornbury will be closed from Alfred Street West to Alice Street West on Saturday, October 11 from 7:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. This closure is to accommodate the start/finish line of the Thornbury-Clarksburg Rotary Club's Turkey Trot Half Marathon. Access will be maintained for emergency services, residents living in the immediate area on Victoria Street and for staff from the Town's Water Division.
