The Town of The Blue Mountains Wastewater Division is excited to welcome members of the community to an Open House to celebrate the completion of the Thornbury Wastewater Treatment Plant Expansion project. The event will be held on Wednesday, May 20, 2026 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. onsite at 1 Grey Street South in Thornbury. As a part of the Open House, a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony will be held shortly after 10:00 a.m.
The project included both the installation of new equipment and the replacement of equipment at the end of its useful life. In total, the rated treatment capacity of the plant increased from 3,580 m³/day to 5,330 m³/day. These upgrades enhance the reliability and resilience of the Town’s wastewater infrastructure and ensure the system can accommodate current demands and future growth within the community.
