This is a reminder that the Town of The Blue Mountains is seeking applications, in the form of letters of interest, from members of the public for appointment to The Blue Mountains Police Services Board. The Board appointment will be in place for the 2022-2026 term of Council.

The deadline to submit an application is Wednesday February 28, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. to:

The Town of The Blue Mountains is seeking applications, in the form of letters of interest, from members of the public for appointment to The Blue Mountains Police Services Board. The Board appointment will be in place for the 2022-2026 term of Council:

  • The Blue Mountains Police Services Board:
    • 5-member Board, 3 Board members have been appointed (2 Members of Council, 1 Public Appointment. The 1 Provincial Appointee seat is currently vacant)
    • 1 additional member of the public being sought.

The Blue Mountains Police Services Board is currently a 3 Member Board. Starting April 1, 2024, the Community Safety and Policing Act will be in place across Ontario. This means a change for The Blue Mountains Police Services Board as it will increase Board Membership from 3 Members to 5 Members, one being an additional Council Appointment and one being an additional Public Member Appointment. The Town of The Blue Mountains Council appointed Councillor Gail Ardiel as the additional Council Appointment on October 30, 2023.

Applicants are encouraged to include background information and any special qualifications or interest related to The Blue Mountains Police Services Board.  Information regarding the Board is available on our Town’s website at: https://www.thebluemountains.ca/town-hall/council-committees/committees-council/police-services-board

NOTE:  Applicants shall be qualified electors within the Town of The Blue Mountains. The successful applicant will be required to complete a background check.
