
Project Update: New Staff Report Available
Staff Report PBS.25.066 is scheduled to be presented at the Committee of the Whole meeting on October 7, 2025. This report provides a follow-up to Council’s request to review options to phase in the Planning and Development Engineering Fees and future projections on applications in the next two years. Staff recommend that Council approve the amendments to By-law 2022-14, Being a By-law for Fees related to Planning Matters and Engineering Services, including a multi-year phase-in of Planning Service Fees and an immediate implementation of Engineering Services fees.
Project Update: Updated Building Services Fees come into effect September 1, 2025
The Town of The Blue Mountains would like to inform residents, builders and developers that Council has formally adopted an amendment to By-law 2014-18, Being a By-law under the Building Code Act Respecting Permits and Related Matters. The updated By-law (2025-40) was adopted at the July 14, 2025, Council Meeting, with all changes set to take effect on September 1, 2025. The amended By-law includes revised building permit fees (Schedule A) and updates that reflect current operational processes within the Building Services Department.
The Town of The Blue Mountains is considering amendments to the fees and charges associated with Planning Act and other related planning applications, engineering technical review, works fees, and other related engineering matters, and Building Code Act respecting Permits and other related matters.
The existing Fees and Charges By-laws include By-law 2022-14 for Planning and Engineering Fees and By-law 2014-18 for Building Services Fees.
A Public Meeting to consider amendments to By-Law 2022-14 and 2014-18 being By-Laws for fees and charges related to Planning Matters, Engineering Services and Building Services was held on March 11, 2025 at 9:30 am.
