On behalf of the Town of the Blue Mountains, Tatham Engineering Limited has completed the design and engineering for the replacement of Bridges 2 and 3 across Mill Creek. The project has been tendered and awarded to HugoMB Contracting Inc. Construction is anticipated to begin in June 2022. Construction activity will be occurring on 6th Sideroad approximately 400m west of 10th Line.

Project Scope
- Removal of existing bridges across Mill Creek on 6th Sideroad;
- Construction of new bridges including headwalls, wingwalls and barriers;
- Construction of a new retaining wall between the two bridges;
- Installation of guide rail;
- Regrading of the road; and
- Restoration of disturbed areas to match existing conditions.
What To Expect
You may experience traffic delays, detours, dust, noise, vibrations and other inconveniences during construction. The Town will make efforts to reduce the impacts where possible by maintaining standard working hours and providing written notice of planned service interruptions or restrictions. We appreciate your patience throughout the project.
Works will be occurring within Town property. Should you have any concerns during construction, please contact the Field Ambassador.
The Town will not be responsible for damage to any privately owned items on Town property.
Work Hours
Work will generally take place Monday to Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Work after hours and on weekends will be completed only if necessary and as required. The Contractor will be required to request approval from Town Council prior to completing any work outside of regular hours.
Road Access
In order to complete the work in a safe manner, 6th Sideroad will be closed to all traffic from 10th Line to 567377 6th Sideroad for the duration of the construction period. No access across Mill Creek will be permitted along 6th Sideroad. Emergency services have been notified of the construction timeframe and primary detour route.
Driveway Access
The contractor will notify you of any temporary restrictions to your driveway access.
Traffic Management
A complete road closure will be in effect during the construction period. 6th Sideroad will be closed from 10th Line to 567377 6th Sideroad. Local access to driveways and field accesses will be permitted, but there will be no access across the creek at the bridges. A primary detour route has been designated on Grey Road 119. This detour route will be indicated by signage.
Parking
Parking in the active work zone is not permitted due to space requirements for construction equipment and materials.
Garbage and Recycling
Please follow your normal routine for garbage and recycling collection. If required, the contractor will move bins to an appropriate location and return them. Please ensure that you label your bins with your address.
Restoration
The construction work area will be restored to pre-existing conditions including laying of sod or hydroseed where required. Granular driveways and shoulders will also be restored where they presently exist. Laying of sod will be done as needed during ideal growing seasons only.
