Pottery with Vara Studios at the Library

The Blue Mountains Public Library has partnered with Vara Studios to offer a special pottery workshop, celebrating Earth Month! In this hands-on session, you’ll have the opportunity to build and decorate your own beautiful bud vase or herb stripper, perfect for showcasing your spring blooms (which are on their way, we promise) or for easily removing leaves and petals from your favorite herbs.

Join Karen James (flute), with Ann-Marie MacDairmid (piano) and Kerri McGonigle (cello), for an enchanting musical evening featuring the compositions of Bach, Mozart, Mancini, and more.

At first listen, these pieces may seem unrelated, but for Karen, they are like old friends—each one offering comfort through challenging times and imparting valuable life lessons. In a time where much is uncertain, they provide an opportunity to contribute some beauty to the world.

Story Time: Tails & Tales with Elizabeth and Easton!

Wired Wednesdays: Grandparent Scams: A Call for Help or a Scam

Discover how scammers target seniors with fake emergencies and deceptive tactics. Ashley will share tips on how to recognize these scams and how grandparents can safeguard themselves from fraud.

Ashley will be available in the L.E. Shore Boardroom from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM for 15-minute drop-in sessions to assist with minor tech issues. For more complex problems that may require additional time, 1-hour tech help appointments are available four days a week.

Tween Lit Kits

Looking for a fun, free way to discover new books? Sign up for our Tween Lit Kits—a monthly surprise package just for tweens! Each kit includes a mystery book, some tasty treats, and a creative craft to enjoy. The best part? It’s completely free with your library card! Kits are available for pick-up on the first Tuesday of each month. Don’t miss out—register now! Spring session runs April 1st - June 3rd . Ages 12 and up.

Council Café

These free events will be informal, with no set agenda. Coffee, tea and light breakfast snacks will be available, and attendees have the opportunity to talk with Council members. Members of the public are encouraged to attend, and registration is not required.

TBM Repair Café

On the 4th Saturday of every month (except July, August and December) 9am-noon area residents have the opportunity to bring their broken items to the Repair Café, where community volunteers use their skills to help repair them for free. We also share some social time, with coffee or a nice cup of tea and cookies. This adventure not only brings our community together to help our neighbours, it also lengthens the life of the items repaired/mended, diverts items going to our landfill and saves taxpayers money!

2025 CANN Rain Barrel Sale

The Climate Action Now Network rain barrel sale is on! Order yours before the sale closes April 20, 2025. Pick-up is Saturday, April 26 at the Beaver Valley Community Centre from 10am - 1pm.

Cost is $65/barrel.

Rain barrels include a leaf/mosquito filter, spigot and overflow hose. Various accessories are also available for purchase.
