The Town is undertaking a Schedule A+ Municipal Class Environmental Assessment to evaluate a number of options for addressing the Town’s long-term water distribution needs, and identify a preferred solution to be implemented as required to match the Town’s growth.

Only Schedule A and A+ projects are approved through this Master Plan. Additional studies and consultation will be required for Schedule B projects (e.g. storage facilities and pumping stations) and Schedule C projects (e.g. new or expanded water treatment facilities).

Why Now?

To ensure the Town's water distribution will scale along with growth estimates, and continue to meet the needs of residents.

Project Updates

The preferred alternative solutions identified through the Environmental Assessment fall into multiple different categories including:

  • Water distribution system improvements
  • Future water distribution network
  • Pressure Zone 1, 4 and 5 supply
  • Pressure Zone 1, 2 and 3 storage
  • Pressure Zone 4 storage
  • Pressure Zone 5 storage

A detailed summary of all the recommendations can be found in the Project File Full Report. These solutions will be brought to Town Council for approval prior to construction.
