The Blue Mountains Fire Department Reminds Residents to Fall Back and Check Alarms on November 3

The Town of The Blue Mountains Fire Department would like to remind residents that clocks will fall back one hour at 1 a.m. on Sunday, November 3. When they change their clocks, the Blue Mountains Fire Department recommends that residents install new batteries in their smoke and carbon monoxide alarms. 

Temporary Lane Restriction - Tyrolean Lane - October 17-18, 2024

The Town of The Blue Mountains would like to advise the public of an active temporary lane restriction. The lane restriction will be in place in the area of 185 Tyrolean Lane on October 17 and 18. This is to allow Dobinson Construction to complete the installation of a sanitary service lateral on behalf of the Town. Access for emergency vehicles and local residents will be maintained.

2024 Fall Sanitary Sewer Flushing, Cleaning and Inspections

The Town of The Blue Mountains would like to advise residents that sanitary sewer flushing, cleaning and inspection work will be conducted throughout the Town beginning Wednesday, October 16, 2024. 

The sanitary sewer mains will be flushed/cleaned using high-pressure water between 7:30 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. beginning Wednesday, October 16, 2024 and expected to conclude on Friday, October 25, 2024.

2024 Thanksgiving Town Hall Office Closure

The Town of The Blue Mountains would like to advise residents of upcoming service changes due to the Thanksgiving Holiday.

Town Hall

Town Hall will be closed on Monday, October 14, 2024. Town Hall will re-open with regular hours on Tuesday, October 15, 2024.

Waste & Yard Waste Collection

Curbside waste collection will occur as usual on Monday, October 14, 2024, and for the remainder of the week. Operations staff have provided additional reminders regarding collection:

Upcoming Change in Water and Wastewater Payment Due Dates

The Town of The Blue Mountains would like to inform residents of an upcoming change to municipal water and wastewater service billing dates. 

Effective January 1, 2025, all payments for water and wastewater charges will be due 21 calendar days from the bill mailing date. This change will commence with the January bill, covering usage from November 1 to December 31. Water and wastewater bills will be mailed within 7 calendar days following the end of the billing period. This update aims to align due dates with the end of the month following the billing period. 

Temporary Lane Restriction - Woodland Park Road - October 4, 2024

The Town of The Blue Mountains would like to advise the public of an upcoming temporary lane restriction. Woodland Park Road will be marked closed with alternating lane restrictions in place between 157 and 165 Woodland Park Road on Friday, October 4. This is to allow SMRS Construction to complete culvert work. Access for emergency vehicles will be maintained.

Temporary Water Outage - Bay Street - September 24, 2024

The Town of The Blue Mountains would like to advise the public of an emergency temporary water outage. Properties on Bay Street, between Grey Street and Elgin Street, will temporarily be without water today - Tuesday, September 24 - between 2:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. while an emergency repair is made to the watermain.

Temporary Road Closure - Sleepy Hollow Road - September 16, 2024

The Town of The Blue Mountains would like to advise the public of an upcoming temporary road closure. Sleepy Hollow Road in Craigleith will be closed between Grey Road 19 and Kitzbuhl Crescent on Monday, September 16, 2024 for the removal of hazard trees on behalf of Hydro One.

2024 Leak Detection Program - Water Services

The Town of The Blue Mountains would like to advise the public that Watermark Solutions Limited will be completing a comprehensive Leak Detection Survey beginning September 9, 2024 and continuing until October 11, 2024. 

The survey will pinpoint leaks on water transmission, distribution and service pipelines throughout the Town. The data collected will be used to assist the Town's Water Department in fixing watermain and service leaks to eliminate water loss.
