The Town of The Blue Mountains would like to advise the public of upcoming temporary lane restrictions. Restrictions will be in place in multiple locations throughout the municipality on March 18 and 19, 2025. This is to allow a contractor to complete maintenance on flow monitoring equipment in the Town's sanitary sewer system.
The Town of The Blue Mountains would like to inform the public of a temporary partial bypass that occurred at the Thornbury Wastewater Treatment Plant on March 6, 2025. Between 8:00 a.m. and 10:30 a.m., a failure in the Ultraviolet (UV) Disinfection equipment resulted in treated effluent bypassing the UV disinfection stage before being discharged to the Beaver River at the Bay Street East outfall.
The Town of The Blue Mountains Fire Department would like to remind residents that clocks will spring forward one hour at 2:00 a.m. on Sunday, March 8. As you adjust your clocks, The Blue Mountains Fire Department encourages residents to also check the expiry dates and install new batteries in their smoke and carbon monoxide alarms.
Please be advised that half-load restrictions come into effect on March 3, 2025 for a variety of roads within the Town of The Blue Mountains, pursuant to By-law No. 2010-54. Where Axle Weight Restrictions signs are in place, the By-law is in full force and effect.

Between 2019 and 2022, the Town of The Blue Mountains completed three separate wastewater servicing extension projects. In accordance with Town policy, the majority of the costs of municipal servicing are recovered from benefitting property owners.
