The Home Farm proposal is to create a Subdivision of 215 residential lots. Applications for Draft Plan of Subdivision, Official Plan Amendment and Zoning By-law amendment were submitted to the Town.

This application was appealed to the Ontario Municipal Board (now the Local Planning Appeals Tribunal). The Town, County of Grey and the Appellant reached a settlement on the proposal. The decision of the Local Planning Appeals Tribunal is available in the related files section on this page.

- Staff Report PDS.20.62 was presented at the Council Meeting held on July 13, 2020. This report summarizes the updated Home Farm appeal to the Local Planning Appeals Tribunal (LPAT) and outlines the settlement through negotiations between the Town and the Developer, as directed by Council. Please note that two previous staff reports, PDS.15.71 and PDS.18.33, are attached for further background information. Council voted 7-0 in favour of receiving this report for information purposes.

January 16, 2024 – PDS.24.012
- Staff Report PDS.24.012 was presented at the Committee of the Whole meeting on January 16, 2024. The purpose of this report is to receive direction from Council to initiate the necessary planning approvals for the development of a purpose-built rental housing project on the subject lands. The Committee voted 5-0 in favour of directing staff to prepare a Draft Official Plan Amendment and Zoning By-law Amendment and to schedule a Public Meeting to consider these amendments and the Land Exchange between the Town and the Developer. This decision was then ratified at the Council Meeting held on January 29, 2024.

March 17, 2026 - PBS.26.019
- Staff Report PBS.26.019 was presented at the March 17, 2026, Committee of the Whole Meeting. This report is intended to inform and seek Council approval of the proposed street names for the MacPherson Builders Limited Home Farm development. The proposed street names were provided by the developer and have been approved by Town staff. The Committee voted 6-0 to receive the report and reserve the outlined street names for the development. This decision was formally adopted at the March 30, 2026, Council Meeting.
